VOTING REQUIREMENTS
You can register to vote for all county elections at the courthouse, phone 770-775-8202, or the Butts County Public Library, 436 E. College St., Jackson, Georgia, phone 770-775-7524. You must be 18 years of age and a resident of Butts County. You must register 30 days before an election in order to vote.

DRIVER'S LICENSES
Driver's licenses may be obtained from the Georgia State Patrol Office, W. Hwy 16 in Griffin, Georgia, phone 770-229-3411. Wednesday-Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
License service is available in Jackson on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at the Daughery Foundation Building, 221 College St., Jackson, Georgia, phone 770-775-7360 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Georgia law requires new residents to obtain a license within 30 days of moving into the State.

AUTOMOBILE TAGS
License plates are sold in the Tax Commissioner's Office, phone 770-775-8206. The Tax Commissioner also receives applications for titles and issues renewal decals for automobiles and mobile homes. New residents from other Georgia counties should register as soon as possible. New residents from another state have 30 working days in which to register an automobile.
